CLOS LACHANCE WINERY HITS GRAND SLAM WITH CHARITY WINES
 
Central Coast Winery Partners with Charity Wines and Major League Baseball Players to Raise Funds Benefiting Children, PAL and others
 
San Martin, CA—March 14, 2008 Clos LaChance Winery hit one out of the ballpark today with the announcement that it has been selected by Charity Wines to produce eight wines for major league baseball players, with proceeds going to each athlete’s preferred charities around the country.
 
Founded in 2007 by Alex Graff and John Corcoran, Charity Wines is a partnership with the baseball fundraising group Charity Hop and Major League Baseball. Together they launched Longball Cellars, a line of wines named after each participating major league ballplayer, with labels depicting classic baseball trading cards.  
 
Clos LaChance will produce wines for eight major league players, including:  
 
The Atlanta Braves:
  • Tom Glavine Cabernet Glavingnon – benefiting CURE Children’s Cancer
  • Chipper Jones: Chipper Chardonnay – benefiting The Miracle League
  • Brian McCann: McCann Merlot – benefiting Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research
 
The New York Yankees:
  • Jorge Posada: Jorge Cabernet – benefiting The Jorge Posada Foundation
  • Bobby Abreu: Abreu’s Finest – benefiting the Police Athletic League (PAL)
 
The New York Mets:
  • Jose Reyes: CaberReyes – benefiting Major League Baseball Players Trust
  • Johan Santana: Santana’s Select – benefiting The Johan Santana Foundation
  • Brian Schneider: Schneider Schardonnay – benefiting The Catching for Kids Foundation
